The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Set for May 4, 2025 Revealed at IGN Fan Fest

Exclusive Season 2 Reveal at IGN Fan Fest 2025

AMC's The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 will premiere exclusively on May 4, 2025, as announced during IGN Fan Fest 2025.

IGN unveiled an exclusive preview and conducted interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) during Fan Fest's second day.

Maggie's Emotional Journey

Cohan shared insights into Maggie's mental state entering the new season: "Things aren't as peaceful as they might appear," she revealed. "My son remains a teenager, creating natural family tensions. With Ginny now in my care too, we're navigating complex domestic dynamics amidst survival challenges – eating, staying safe, sleeping – before another major conflict arises."

Negan's Precarious Situation

Morgan discussed his character's evolution: "Negan finds himself trapped under The Dama and The Croat's control," he explained. "He'll attempt to turn things around, but starts the season struggling – always plotting, yet seriously disadvantaged."

The actor affectionately reflected on Negan's infamous weapon: "Lucille remains special – the only prop I've genuinely loved carrying throughout my career," Morgan admitted with humor, "though Lauren might disagree!"

Shifting Power Dynamics

Gimple teased Season 2's conflicts: "There's no singular antagonist," he noted. "Power structures constantly shift – relationships aren't purely oppositional, but politically complex... before turning violent."

IGN additionally released the Season 2 premiere's opening minutes exclusively.

Mark your calendars for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, premiering May 4, 2025 on AMC. Stay updated with all Fan Fest 2025 announcements.
