Don't Nod, the French studio behind the acclaimed Life is Strange series, has released the first chapter of their new narrative-driven thriller. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching free for all purchasers on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game plunges players into the lives of a close-knit group of friends whose bonds shattered during a fateful summer in 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specter of that summer returns, unleashing unforeseen and chilling consequences.
Drawing inspiration from classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly blends nostalgic atmosphere with gripping psychological thriller elements. The game is divided into two parts: Bloom and Rage. Currently, only Bloom, the first half of this haunting narrative, is available (February 18th).
Rage, also known as "The Tape," will be released on April 15th. Initially planned for a March release, the launch was delayed to ensure a refined and polished gaming experience.
The review embargo has lifted, and OpenCritic currently shows an average critic score of 74/100, a promising start for this captivating mystery.
