Uno! Mobile Gets Beyond Color Update

Author : Anthony Apr 10,2025

Mobile game developer Mattel163 has rolled out a significant update for three of its popular card games: Phase 10: World Tour, UNO! Mobile, and Skip-Bo Mobile. The new Beyond Colors update introduces colorblind-friendly decks, enhancing the inclusivity and accessibility of these games.

The Beyond Colors feature utilizes specially designed card decks that replace traditional colors with distinct shapes such as squares, triangles, circles, and stars. This innovative approach ensures that players with color vision deficiency can easily distinguish between different card types. For example, a green card might feature a triangle, while a blue card could display a square, making it straightforward for colorblind players to identify each card's intended color.

To enable the Beyond Colors decks, players simply need to tap on their avatar within the game, navigate to the account settings, and select the option under the card theme settings. This user-friendly approach allows players to customize their gaming experience to better suit their needs.

Mattel163's initiative to make its games more accessible comes at a time when approximately 300 million people worldwide are affected by colorblindness, according to the Cleveland Clinic. By introducing these new deck options, Mattel163 is breaking down barriers and expanding the reach of their games to a broader audience.

The development of the Beyond Colors decks involved collaboration with gamers, including those who are colorblind, ensuring the symbols are intuitive and consistent across all three games. Mattel has also set an ambitious goal to make 80% of its games portfolio colorblind accessible by 2025, demonstrating a strong commitment to inclusivity.

UNO! Mobile, a digital version of the classic card game where players race to discard all their cards, now offers an enhanced experience for all players. Phase 10: World Tour challenges players to complete phases as quickly as possible, while Skip-Bo Mobile provides a unique twist on the traditional solitaire game.

All three games are readily available for download on the App Store and Google Play. For more information about Mattel163 and the Beyond Colors update, visit their official website or follow them on Facebook to stay updated with the latest news and developments.
