Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following successes like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing title.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre bazaar shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising wit work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unique ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a mining colony's shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, filled with quirky shops, you eventually encounter Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. Unraveling the mystery involves shifting perspectives between Lila and the Master.
Playing as Lila allows you to create universes in a captivating mini-game, mixing ingredients to craft visually stunning worlds. The Master's journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and interactions with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the unfolding events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages exploration.
