The Capcom Pro Tour is now on hiatus, as all 48 contenders for Capcom Cup 11 have been confirmed. Instead of focusing on the world's top players, we're taking a closer look at the fighters they've chosen to use.
With the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs shared statistics on the most frequently played Street Fighter 6 characters at the highest competitive tier. This data provides a solid snapshot of the game's current balance. It's worth noting that all 24 available characters had at least one representative, although out of nearly 200 players—accounting for eight finalists from 24 regions—only a single competitor picked Ryu. Even Terry Bogard, the newest roster addition, was selected by two players.
Currently, the most favored characters among professional competitors are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison. Each of these three was used by 17 players. After them, there's a sizeable drop-off, with the next group featuring Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (both with 11 players), and JP and Chun-Li (each chosen by 10 players). Among the less frequently used characters, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out—each was the fighter of choice for seven players.
Capcom Cup 11 is scheduled for this March in Tokyo, with the tournament champion earning a one-million-dollar prize.
