The most coveted prize in the Fortune & Colors event is undoubtedly the free costume for everyone's beloved outlaw hero. How To Obtain Star-Lord's Free Skin in the Fortune & Colors Event
Similar to the Winter Celebration, players must collect special event currency called Danqing - represented by a paintbrush icon next to red paint - to progress through the Fortune & Colors rewards. This currency can only be earned by completing event challenges across three game modes: the new Clash of Dancing Lions, Quick Play, and Competitive matches.
While regular challenges rotate, these seasonal objectives remain constant. Here are all currently available Fortune & Colors missions:
- Complete 3 Clash of Dancing Lions matches
- Intercept the ball 3 times in a single Clash of Dancing Lions match
After accumulating Danqing, players can redeem it in the event pass. The Star-Lord Lion's Mane skin requires 900 Danqing. Though this may seem substantial, the event runs through February 14th, giving ample time to complete challenges and unlock the cosmetic.
How To Preview Star-Lord's Lion's Mane Skin Before Unlocking
For players wanting to test the Star-Lord skin without completing the grind, the Clash of Dancing Lions mode - a superhero-themed take on Rocket League's gameplay - provides full access to all three Spring Festival outfits during matches. This limited-time mode exclusively features Star-Lord, Black Widow, and Iron Fist with their seasonal costumes automatically equipped.
If players wish to permanently add all three skins to their collection, the in-game store offers the Dancing Lions bundle for 2,800 Units (approximately $20). This includes Iron Fist's Lion's Gaze and Black Widow's Lion's Heartbeat skins, representing significant savings compared to purchasing them individually.
