Square Enix's Latest RPG Embers Your Imagination

Author : Adam Jan 21,2025

Emberstoria, a new strategy RPG from Square Enix, launches exclusively in Japan on November 27th. The game, available for pre-download now, features a compelling narrative set in the world of Purgatory, where resurrected warriors known as Embers battle monstrous threats. The game boasts a classic Square Enix style, with a dramatic storyline, impressive visuals, and a large voice cast (over 40 actors).

While a Western release isn't currently confirmed, anticipation is high. However, recent news regarding the transfer of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent's operations to NetEase raises questions about Square Enix's future mobile strategy. This new title, Emberstoria, may offer clues. It might remain Japan-exclusive, or a global launch facilitated by NetEase is a possibility. The path to a global release, while uncertain, is not considered impossible. The outcome will be highly informative regarding Square Enix's future mobile game plans.
