The gang returns to Colorado - Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are coming back! South Park has officially announced Season 27's premiere, showcasing our favorite foul-mouthed fourth-graders grappling with modern issues... in their typical disastrous fashion.
The legendary animated series dropped a new trailer hyping the upcoming season, initially tricking viewers into believing it was previewing a serious drama series. With its intense cinematography and ominous soundtrack, the setup seemed completely sincere... until Randy Marsh and daughter Shelley appeared discussing drugs in her bedroom, complete with a Wicked movie poster visible.
"Are you taking drugs?" Randy earnestly asks his daughter. "Because I think it could really help you."

The trailer quickly returns to its dramatic tone, teasing numerous outrageous (and timely) Season 27 scenarios - multiple plane disasters, Lady Liberty's destruction, a P. Diddy cameo, and surprisingly enough, renewed hostilities with Canada. Though longtime fans might recall this geopolitical struggle dates back to South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut in 1999.
Comedy Central confirmed the season premiere will air July 9, 2025 - marking the series' proper return after a two-year hiatus following Season 26. During this break, South Park released three acclaimed specials: 2023's Joining the Panderverse and Not Suitable For Children, followed by 2024's The End of Obesity.
Originally debuting in 1997, South Park celebrated its silver anniversary in 2022, maintaining its status as one of television's most consistently bold and influential animated series.
