Sonic Rumble Pre-Release Event: Monkey Ball, Altered Beast Crossover

Author : Anthony May 03,2025

With the global release of Sonic Rumble still a few weeks away on May 8th, fans are in for a treat as the game gears up for its first exciting crossover event. This isn't just any crossover; it's a celebration of iconic Sega characters from past and present, adding a nostalgic twist to the game.

Interestingly, this event will kick off before the worldwide launch, exclusively for players in regions where Sonic Rumble is currently in soft launch. From now until May 7th, you can snag the Werewolf character, inspired by the classic Altered Beast, absolutely free.

For those subscribed to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more in store. You'll have the chance to unlock the Weredragon from Altered Beast, alongside Opa-Opa, the original Sega mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.

It's quite unique to see such an event unfold before the official release, but those fortunate enough to be part of the soft launch are in for a thrilling experience with these new characters.

Sega has hinted that this is just the beginning. A packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations awaits Sonic Rumble players, promising a dynamic and engaging post-launch experience.
