Smite 2 Launches Free-to-Play with New Character

Smite 2's Open Beta Launch: January 14th, 2025

Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, launches its free-to-play open beta on January 14th, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, initially revealed a decade after its predecessor.

This open beta isn't just a simple launch; it's packed with exciting new content. Key highlights include:

  • Aladdin's Arrival: The first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon joins the roster, bringing his unique Magical Assassin/Jungler abilities and wall-running prowess.

  • Familiar Faces, New Skills: Popular Gods from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, return with revamped skill sets.

  • Expanded God Roster: The beta will feature approximately 20 of the game's 45 dynamic Gods, with the total number expected to reach nearly 50 by the end of January 2025.

  • New Game Modes: Experience the thrill of Joust (3v3) and Duel (1v1), both set in an Arthurian-themed arena with Teleporters and Stealth Grass.

  • Aspects System: This innovative system allows players to trade a God's ability for a powerful bonus, adding strategic depth to gameplay. For instance, Athena loses her ally-shielding teleport but gains a foe-weakening one.

  • Quality-of-Life Improvements: Expect significant enhancements, including Role Guides, helpful new player messages, PC text chat, improved item store, death recaps, and more.

  • Esports Debut: The first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will be held at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from January 17th to 19th.

Smite 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Mark your calendars for January 14th and prepare for a fresh, exciting MOBA experience!
