"The Sims 1 & 2 Re-Released for PC in 25th Birthday Bundle"

Author : Julian Apr 10,2025

EA and Maxis are marking the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise with an exciting announcement: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are now available on PC once again through two Legacy Collections and a special The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle. Priced at $40, the bundle includes both collections, offering fans a comprehensive package of nostalgia and fun.

The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection can be purchased separately or together. Each collection comes packed with all expansions and nearly all stuff packs. Notably, The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008, but both collections still boast an extensive range of content. Additionally, The Sims 1 includes a unique Throwback Fit Kit, while The Sims 2 features a Grunge Revival Kit, adding extra flair to the classic gameplay.

EA's re-release of these beloved titles marks a significant moment, as it's the first time in over a decade that both games have been readily available. The Sims 1 was previously only accessible via physical discs, making it challenging for modern players to enjoy the game and its expansions on current Windows systems. The Sims 2, while more recently available through the 2014 Ultimate Collection on EA's Origin store, became inaccessible after the collection was discontinued. Now, with these new collections, all four The Sims games are easily purchasable and playable on digital platforms.

When we originally reviewed these games, The Sims 1 earned a remarkable 9.5/10, and The Sims 2 scored an 8.5/10. While the series has evolved significantly since then, adding new features and refining gameplay, the original games remain cherished for their charm, simplicity, and enduring legacy.

Both The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are now available for purchase on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and through the EA app, allowing fans old and new to dive back into the iconic world of The Sims.
