Playable Silksong Demo Coming to Australia
Featured in ACMI's Game Worlds Exhibit

Hollow Knight: Silksong remains one of gaming's most awaited titles, and players will soon get hands-on access at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). The upcoming playable version promises significant advancements from its initial 2019 demo, which served primarily as a proof of concept.
The Game Worlds exhibition runs from September 18, 2025 to February 8, 2026, showcasing notable titles including World of Warcraft, The Sims, and Australia's own Hollow Knight: Silksong. Visitors can experience custom game builds alongside original development materials, concept art, and notable artifacts.
In an interview with IGN, ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed excitement about Silksong's inclusion: "Since its 2019 announcement, Silksong has captivated indie game enthusiasts worldwide. We're honored to highlight this South Australian-developed masterpiece as a centerpiece of our Game Worlds exhibition."

The exhibition aims to provide unprecedented access to Silksong's development, offering fans their first substantial look at the game since the initial teaser. ACMI's curators revealed: "Our displays will showcase everything from Hornet's intricate animation sprites to boss fight mechanics - culminating in the gallery's playable version that offers deep insight into the game's artistic vision."

While the exhibition might suggest a potential 2025 release window (as hinted in the recent Switch 2 Direct), no official launch date has been confirmed. The exhibition's duration through February 2026 keeps hope alive for a release during this period.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch across PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC platforms. Stay updated with the latest Silksong news through our additional coverage below.
