Helldivers 2's upcoming enemy additions: Impalers and the Illuminate faction

Recent leaks suggest exciting additions to the enemy roster in Helldivers 2. The game already boasts a diverse range of Terminid and Automaton foes, each with unique abilities, but the upcoming additions promise even greater challenges.

The return of a classic: The Impaler

A leak from IronS1ghts, a source with a proven track record of accurate leaks, points to the return of the Impaler from the original Helldivers. This formidable enemy, a burrowing behemoth that attacks with its front tentacles, is reportedly already in the game files, though its in-game model hasn't yet been publicly revealed. Its heavily armored front requires precise targeting, but like other Terminids, it’s weak to fire damage.

New challenges: The Illuminate faction

Further leaks hint at the imminent arrival of the Illuminate faction, adding another layer of strategic complexity. This faction will reportedly include a wide array of enemies, such as the Obelisk, Pathfinder, Summoner, Outcast, and Illusionist, each employing distinct tactics. Expect projectiles, reinforcements, and potent fire-based attacks from these new foes.

Expanding the war for Managed Democracy

Helldivers 2 continues its mission of spreading Managed Democracy across the galaxy. Players will face these new and returning threats as they undertake Major Orders – community-wide challenges rewarding players with Medals and Requisitions for unlocking new weapons, armor, and stratagems. The addition of the Impaler and the Illuminate faction promises to significantly increase the difficulty and replayability of this beloved co-op shooter.
