Exciting news for fans of intense action and roguelike gameplay: Saros, the highly anticipated spiritual successor to Returnal, was officially unveiled at the February 2025 State of Play. Developed by the acclaimed studio Housemarque, Saros is set to launch in 2026, promising to build upon the thrilling foundation laid by its predecessor. Releasing in 2026
Housemarque's latest venture, Saros, was introduced at the State of Play in February 2025, and it's slated for release on both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro in 2026. This new title continues the legacy of their third-person action game, Returnal, introducing players to a new protagonist, Arjun Devraj, portrayed by the talented Hollywood actor Rahul Kohli.
Come Back Stronger
According to Housemarque’s creative director, Gregory Louden, Saros aims to establish a standalone IP that refines and expands upon the storytelling and mechanics of Returnal. While Returnal offers an ever-changing roguelike experience across shifting biomes, Saros introduces permanent and evolving loadouts, including weapons and suits, designed to help players "Come Back Stronger" and overcome any challenges they encounter.
