Announced during a livestream on April 16, the developers at Jagex revealed that the game is now accessible on Steam for early play. This comes shortly after its first trailer was released, leaving fans in awe. The game was first teased in 2022, with alpha testing signups opening in late 2024 for a new survival game within the RuneScape universe. It was officially unveiled as RuneScape: Dragonwilds on March 31, 2025.

The team at Jagex anticipates a full release of Dragonwilds in early 2026. Early Access Roadmap Unveiled

Jagex has shared an exciting early access roadmap for Dragonwilds, detailing the upcoming content and features. A highlight is the new region, Fellhollow, a mystical land teetering between life and death. This area is under the dominion of the soul-eater dragon Imaru, influenced by the anima of Ashenfall and cursed Underworld energy. Players will explore this region with the iconic RuneScape character Death, experiencing new quests, lore, gear, and music. New skills in magic, ranged, and farming will also be introduced.

The game will further expand with new enemy types like Lesser Dragons, dragon slayer gear, a hardcore mode, a creative mode, and more. While specific release dates for these updates haven't been set, Jagex promises continuous enhancements to the game.
