Pocketpair Remains Tight-Lipped on Future Platform Plans
In a recent interview, Mizobe highlighted the significant technical differences between the PC version and the Switch's capabilities, making a direct port difficult. Discussions regarding new platforms are ongoing, but no announcements are imminent. The game's high PC specifications present a considerable obstacle for a Switch release.
Despite the challenges, Mizobe remains open to expanding Palworld's availability to other platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices. While talks have occurred regarding additional platforms and potential partnerships or acquisitions, no deals have been finalized.
Ambitions for Enhanced Multiplayer Features
Beyond platform expansion, Mizobe expressed a desire to enhance Palworld's multiplayer aspects, drawing inspiration from popular survival games like Ark and Rust. The upcoming arena mode serves as a testbed for future PvP experiences, with Mizobe aiming for a more robust PvP system in the vein of Ark or Rust, incorporating elements like alliances and resource management.
Palworld's successful launch, exceeding 15 million PC sales and 10 million Xbox players (via Game Pass), underscores the game's popularity. A major update, including the Sakurajima update launching Thursday, will introduce a new island and the highly anticipated PvP arena.
