Pokémon TCG Pocket previews new trading feature and gives fresh details on implementation

Author : Samuel Feb 26,2025

Pokémon TCG Pocket is adding a highly anticipated trading system! This new feature, launching later this month, will let you exchange cards with friends, bringing a much-requested element of the physical card game experience to the digital realm.

The trading system will initially have some limitations designed to ensure fair play. Trades will be restricted to cards of the same rarity (1-4 stars) and only between friends. Furthermore, cards must be consumed to complete a trade; you can't keep a copy of the card after trading.

A Balanced Approach to Trading

While there are potential limitations, this implementation strikes a good balance. The developers plan to monitor the system's performance closely and make adjustments as needed. This iterative approach is reassuring, especially given the high demand for this feature.

Some unanswered questions remain, such as which rarity tiers will be excluded from trading and the exact nature of any consumable currency requirements. These details should be clarified upon the system's release.

In the meantime, boost your game with our guide to the best decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket! Prepare to dominate the competition.
