Has Persona 4 Already Been Remade?

The speculation surrounding a *Persona 4* remake ignited when *Persona* enthusiast and YouTuber ScrambledFaz shared an intriguing screenshot on X. The screenshot revealed that the domain "p4re.jp" was registered on March 20th. Notably, "p3re.jp" was registered just months before the *Persona 3* remake announcement two years prior, fueling theories about an impending *Persona 4* remake.

The original *Persona 4* hit the shelves in 2008, exclusively for PlayStation 3 and 4. In 2012, *Persona 4 Golden* expanded the game's reach, porting it to PlayStation Vita and PC, enhancing graphics, and introducing fresh content like the new town of Okina City and the beloved romanceable character, Marie.

Despite these enhancements, *Persona 4 Golden* isn't classified as a full remake, much like *Persona 3 Portable*. The 2009 PSP version introduced a new protagonist and Theodore in the Velvet Room, yet it didn't match the comprehensive overhaul seen in *Persona 3: Reload*.

What Would a Persona 4 Remake Look Like?

If a *Persona 4* remake mirrors the quality of *Persona 3 Reload*, fans have much to look forward to. The 2008 graphics, while charming, could benefit from a modern facelift, including updated character portraits and animations for cutscenes.

Such a remake would likely expand on side quests and deepen character interactions, offering more opportunities to strengthen social links. *Persona 4 Golden* introduced Okina City, where players could indulge in various activities like visiting the cinema or coffee shop. A remake could further enrich this urban experience.

When Should We Expect a Persona 4 Remake?

In 2024, a credible Sega leaker hinted that a *Persona 4* remake is in development, though a release might be some time away. Based on the timeline of *Persona 3: Reload*, an announcement might occur as early as June, mirroring the reveal at the Xbox Summer Showcase in June 2023.

Amidst this, Atlus has been teasing *Persona 6* for years. With nearly a decade since *Persona 5*, the absence of a confirmed release date for *Persona 6* adds to the anticipation. Rumors of a *Persona 4* remake have sparked concerns that it might further delay *Persona 6*, which is already rumored to be in development. Some fans argue that *Persona 4* doesn't need a remake, hoping it won't significantly impact *Persona 6*'s timeline.

And that wraps up everything we currently know about the potential *Persona 4* remake, dubbed *Persona 4 Reload*.
