Attention all Death Stranding enthusiasts! Brace yourselves for an exciting update: the much-anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, is slated for release in June. The franchise's leading man, Norman Reedus, recently gave fans a tantalizing glimpse into the game and shared intriguing details about the upcoming film adaptation during an interview with IGN.
When questioned about the possibility of portraying himself in the film version, which is being developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24, Reedus responded enthusiastically, "If it was an option, yeah, for sure. I don’t know what’s happening with it. It’s so pre pre pre right now. But yeah, of course."

In the same interview, Reedus addressed his initial bewilderment with the first game and whether that feeling persisted as he approached the sequel. He expressed a profound trust in creator Hideo Kojima, saying, “As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at. He’s just that guy, he’s out there and he’s got great ideas. But story-wise, I did know what was happening more. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to.”
Regardless of the complexities within the Death Stranding universe, Reedus remains enthusiastic about his involvement. "It’s always a trip working on those things," he shared with IGN. "It’s great, but it’s wild."
Mark your calendars: Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch on June 26, 2025.
