The high demand for Alarmo was evident shortly after its October 9th, 2024 launch. Sales were temporarily suspended in Japan due to overwhelming orders, necessitating a lottery system for Nintendo Online subscribers. Similar high demand led to sell-outs in select locations like New York City.

Alarmo's popularity underscores its unique features. Boasting 42 selectable scenes featuring beloved characters from games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with more to come via free updates (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons), Alarmo offers a playful wake-up experience.

The alarm itself is cleverly designed. A chosen character appears on screen, and upon activation, a gentle sound plays. A "visitor" then arrives, prompting the user to get out of bed. Prolonged slumber results in a more insistent alarm and visitor. The motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without physically touching the device.
