Morikomori Life has officially launched on Android and iOS platforms—but for now, only in Japan. The game is published by Realfun Studio in this region. Interestingly, it originally debuted in China under the publishing arm of Level Infinite, which operates under Tencent Games. However, the Chinese version was removed from stores approximately a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its stunning visual design. The development team has masterfully crafted a world filled with cozy, heartwarming aesthetics through anime-inspired artwork—more specifically, art reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s iconic style. We're not talking about AI-generated visuals here; the environments feel like they’ve been pulled straight from a classic Ghibli film, rich with charm and warmth.
In terms of narrative, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese woman who one day receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother. The message urges her to return to the village where she spent her childhood. That village is Komori, a serene place that becomes the backdrop for your journey toward rediscovering the joys of peaceful living.
The 3D toon-shaded landscapes of Komori beautifully capture the essence of rural Japan. If you’re skeptical about how immersive the visuals are, don’t just take our word for it. Check out a couple of Morikomori Life trailers below to see what we mean:
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
At its core, Morikomori Life is a slice-of-life simulation game centered around rural living. You’ll spend time farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing your own home. As you explore, you can gather resources such as wood and ore, allowing you to gradually improve and expand your lifestyle.
As you collect materials, new opportunities open up—like upgrading your house or crafting unique furniture. You have full control over Kaon’s appearance, letting you personalize her look to match your style. Interacting with villagers adds another layer of depth, as you make friends, cook meals using ingredients you’ve gathered, and assist locals with various tasks.
Character customization plays a big role in making the experience personal, and the game's open-world nature gives you the freedom to roam and discover hidden gems scattered throughout the environment.
Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan. If you're located in the region, you can download it directly from the [Google Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realfun.mcl). There hasn't been any official announcement yet regarding a global release, so international fans may need to wait a bit longer.
