Microsoft introduces Retro Classics with Game Pass, partnering with Antstream Arcade to deliver a curated selection of 50+ iconic Activision titles from the 1980s and 1990s exclusively for Game Pass subscribers.
Highlights include Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Pitfall!, with some titles dating back 45 years. Notably, players can now save progress—a groundbreaking feature for many of these retro classics.
Microsoft describes Retro Classics as "advancing our dedication to game preservation and backward compatibility." The collection will be accessible across all Game Pass tiers in existing service regions.

Retro Classics delivers unified gameplay across consoles, PCs, and cloud-enabled devices. Whether on Xbox hardware, PC via the Xbox app, or streaming to LG/Samsung Smart TVs, Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets, this collection brings nostalgic gaming to modern platforms.
Subscribers can access Retro Classics through their Game Pass membership by searching via console or PC app. The update introduces competitive challenges and new achievements, alongside revolutionary save functionality for classic titles.
This announcement follows closely on Wave 2 of May 2025's Xbox Game Pass lineup and confirmation of Hellblade 2's PS5 release this summer.
