Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Chapter 1 Now Available!
Experience Will’s Journey in Manga Form
Metaphor enthusiasts have a delightful surprise waiting for them, as the inaugural chapter of the official Metaphor: ReFantazio manga has made its debut on the MANGA Plus website, and it's free to read. Atlus has teamed up with the renowned manga publisher Shueisha to bring this manga to life, with illustrations by the talented Japanese manga artist Yōichi Amano, known for his work on "Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden" and "Stealth Symphony."
The manga takes a unique approach by diverging from the video game's plot, introducing creative changes and altering the opening timeline. The first chapter notably omits a specific starting area present in the game and introduces new events not seen in the original storyline, while also reshaping existing ones, such as the protagonist's encounters with his allies. Furthermore, the manga confirms the protagonist's name as Will, aligning with the game's default name.
Anticipate the next chapter to drop on February 19th, released in sync with the Japanese edition.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Garners Widespread Acclaim and Awards
Metaphor: ReFantazio marks Atlus' latest intellectual property, developed by Studio Zero under the guidance of Katsura Hashino, the celebrated director and producer behind Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The game follows the protagonist, Will, and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a quest to rescue the prince of the United Kingdom of Euchronia from a foretold doom.
Amidst their journey, the king is assassinated, plunging the land into turmoil without a clear leader. In his final act, the king expresses his wish for the people to choose their next ruler, drawing Will into a grander saga than he could have ever imagined.
The game achieved phenomenal success, selling over a million copies on its launch day, surpassing Atlus' previous record holder, Persona 3: Reload, released earlier in 2024. It garnered widespread acclaim, earning top scores and prestigious awards at The Game Awards 2024, including Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is accessible on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S, offering players a chance to experience this acclaimed title across various platforms.
