Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!

A recent announcement from NetEase Games has clarified the much-debated rank reset for Marvel Rivals Season 1. Initially planned for the mid-season update on February 21, 2025, the rank reset has been cancelled due to significant player feedback.

The developer acknowledged the negative response to the proposed reset, citing concerns about the pressure it placed on players and its impact on the enjoyment of competitive play. In response, they've opted for a different approach.

Instead of a reset, players will retain their current ranks and scores when the second half of Season 1 begins. To earn new rewards, players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end. These rewards include a new Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor with unique designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All ranks.

This decision is a positive development for high-ranking players, providing them with extended time to compete at the top level. It also highlights NetEase's responsiveness to player feedback, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement.

Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:

Beyond the rank reset reversal, the mid-season update introduces two new playable heroes: The Thing and Human Torch. While specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) remain undisclosed, this addition is sure to impact the game's meta.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
