A Kindling Forest: A High-Octane Auto-Runner from a Solo Developer

Dennis Berndtsson, a high school teacher moonlighting as a game developer, presents his latest creation: A Kindling Forest. This isn't your average action-adventure; it's a fast-paced, side-scrolling auto-runner brimming with innovative gameplay mechanics. Prepare for a thrilling journey filled with forests, arrows, and copious amounts of lava!

The Story: A Demon, an Archer, and a Perilous Quest

An ancient demon unleashes chaos upon the world, prompting the forest spirits to awaken a long-dormant archer. Armed with a bow and arrow, the archer embarks on a mission to vanquish the demon. However, this isn't a straightforward quest; expect unexpected twists and turns!

Gameplay: Precision and Timing are Key

Players are thrust into a constant state of motion, navigating a screen that relentlessly scrolls, presenting a barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. The choice is yours: skillfully evade these hazards or eliminate them with well-aimed arrows.

Arrows are the key to survival. These aren't just projectiles; they're the embodiment of the forest spirits' aid. Running out of arrows means game over, emphasizing the strategic importance of each shot.

A Kindling Forest features five increasingly challenging levels. Expect to leap over arachnids, teleport through mysterious ruins, soar across clouds, and even navigate treacherous lava flows. Strategically placed checkpoints offer lifelines, allowing players to restart and refine their approach after setbacks.

The game's innovative dual-screen control scheme divides the screen: one half for jumping, the other for shooting. Precise timing is crucial. A helpful slow-motion effect assists players in aiming their shots.
