Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Plans Confirmed by Warner Bros. Discovery
Expected in a “Couple Years Down the Road”
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced its intention to develop a sequel to the blockbuster action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy. This confirmation came from Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels during the Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, as reported by Variety.
"Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road," Wiedenfels stated. He emphasized the significant growth potential that the gaming division holds within the company's strategic outlook.
David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Games, highlighted the game's replayability as a major factor in its success. "Many players have gone back and played the game more than once," Haddad shared in an earlier interview with Variety. He praised the game for bringing the Harry Potter universe to life in a unique way, allowing players to immerse themselves in the story and world as their own characters.
Haddad believes that this immersive experience is what truly resonated with the gaming community, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to become the best-selling game of the year. "That’s a position that typically is held by one of these incumbent’s sequel games and we’re so proud that we’ve been able to break into the top ranks," he added.
Game8 was particularly impressed with the visual quality of Hogwarts Legacy, describing it as the most astounding visual experience a Harry Potter fan could hope for. For a deeper dive into our thoughts on the game, you can read our full review at the link below.
