Haegin Launches Play Together on PC via Steam

Author : Savannah May 22,2025

Haegin, the developers behind the popular social gaming platform Play Together, have recently announced that they're expanding their reach by bringing the game to Steam. Now, you can dive into the vibrant world of Kaia Island not just on your mobile device, but also on your desktop, thanks to the introduction of cross-play between the two platforms. Why the move to Steam now? Let's explore a few possibilities.

For those new to Play Together, the game allows you to craft your unique avatar and embark on adventures across Kaia Island. You can mingle with fellow players, participate in a variety of minigames, and personalize your very own in-game home. While the game has enjoyed significant success on mobile platforms, this PC release seems to be Haegin's strategic step towards capturing a broader audience.

If I were to speculate, the primary motivation behind this move is likely to attract new players. Play Together shares similarities with other social gaming experiences like those found on Roblox. Yet, until now, it has primarily catered to a mobile-only crowd, leaving the desktop market untapped. By making the game available on Steam, Haegin aims to tap into this potential new user base.

With over 200 million downloads, Play Together has undoubtedly made its mark in the mobile gaming world, often highlighted by its frequent in-game events and updates. The Steam launch, complete with account-linking rewards and celebratory events, signals Haegin's ambition to expand its player base. However, it's reasonable to expect that the game might not achieve the same level of success on Steam as it has on mobile devices.

Yet, the real value might lie elsewhere. One of the significant advantages of porting mobile games to desktop with cross-play is the ability to retain players who enjoy gaming across multiple platforms. Will the desktop version encourage longer play sessions? Only time will tell.
