Hades 2 Set for Exclusive Launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Author : Noah May 07,2025

Excitement is building as Hades 2 is set to launch on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 as a timed console exclusive. Although a specific release date hasn't been announced yet, Supergiant Games has confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel will hit PC and Nintendo Switch 2, alongside the original Switch, simultaneously later this year.

While the news of Hades 2 coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed during last week's Nintendo Direct, Supergiant has now clarified that the game will not only be available on both Switch versions but will also enjoy a period of exclusivity on Nintendo's consoles.

"Hades II v1.0 will launch simultaneously on our Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Nintendo Switch," the developer announced via X/Twitter.

Currently, it's unclear when Hades 2 will expand to other consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

As the sequel to Supergiant's acclaimed first game, Hades 2 continues to blend captivating storytelling with roguelite action in a thrilling dungeon-crawling experience. In IGN's Hades 2 early-access review, we praised the game, awarding it a 9/10 score: "Hades 2 feels impossibly huge and unbelievably polished by any standard, much less an early access game. Mel is awesome, the new tweaks to the combat and progression are excellent, and it's just unbelievably feature packed with twice the content of the first. What’s here right out of the gate is astounding, and the thought of more coming on the way is a tantalizing treat."
