In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are essential crafting resources that you can start collecting early in the game, particularly in the Windward Plains. These fangs are crucial for forging beginner-tier gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor sets. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to efficiently find and farm Sharp Fangs.
How to Get Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds
To start your hunt for Sharp Fangs, take on one of the initial optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. Before you set out, consider preparing a meal to boost your performance.
Once in the Windward Plains, head east to Area 8, the largest area on the map, teeming with various small monsters. While several of these creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, focus on the following:
Gaijos
Gaijos, small leviathan monsters resembling crocodiles with unique snouts, are primarily found near or in riverbeds. You can locate them by scanning for purple diamonds on the interactive map near water sources. Gaijos are easy to defeat with your equipped weapon due to their low health. After defeating one, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang.
Since Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, they are your primary target. You can find around four to five Gaijos in the Windward Plains upon entering. To farm more, simply re-enter the region via any of the Windward Plains optional quests.
Talioth
Talioths, bipedal monsters that roam in packs in Area 8 and occasionally Area 13, can also drop Sharp Fangs, though not guaranteed. They are slightly tougher than Gaijos but manageable with starter weapons. Apart from Sharp Fangs, Talioth carcasses might yield other items like Talioth Scales. Additionally, hunting Talioths can help you complete the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
By following these strategies, you'll efficiently farm Sharp Fangs in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and guides on the game, such as mastering the Great Sword with all its moves and combos, be sure to explore our other content.
