GTA 6 Trailer 2 Boosts The Pointer Sisters' Spotify Streams

Author : Chloe May 20,2025

The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" has experienced a monumental surge in Spotify streams after its inclusion in the newly released trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which debuted just yesterday.

In the mere two hours following the trailer's premiere, global Spotify streams for the 1986 hit skyrocketed by an astonishing 182,000%. Although Spotify's numbers haven't been updated since yesterday, "Hot Together" currently stands at just over 250,000 streams. It's anticipated that this figure will continue to climb significantly in the coming days.

“Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else,” said Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong. “Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans, both new and established, connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

PlayIt's been 24 hours since Rockstar Games unveiled its latest glimpse of GTA 6, and the trailer has already amassed an impressive 77.7 million views on YouTube. The surge in popularity for "Hot Together" is remarkable yet not surprising. When the first trailer for Rockstar's latest game was revealed in late 2023, the featured song, Tom Petty’s "Love Is A Long Road," also saw a similarly massive boost in Spotify streams. This sparked numerous fan theories about its connection to GTA 6’s storyline, a phenomenon yet to emerge for "Hot Together."

As fans eagerly await the (recently delayed) release of GTA 6 on May 26, 2026, Rockstar is providing them with plenty of great music to enjoy. In the meantime, delve into some of the best Trailer 2 fan theories we’ve seen so far, as well as our comprehensive list of 89 details Rockstar tucked into the video.
