To celebrate the release of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have launched a new trailer:
While the original Gothic cast players as the Nameless Hero, the remake lets you experience the story through Nyras, a fellow prisoner. Despite this shift in perspective, the core objective remains unchanged: survival in a brutal and unforgiving world.
Released as part of Steam Next Fest, this demo has already achieved a new record for concurrent players within the Gothic series:

The demo showcases the remake's enhanced visuals, fluid animations, and a combat system rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. As expected from a prologue, it offers a glimpse rather than the full depth of RPG mechanics and open-world freedom awaiting players in the final game.
The Gothic Remake is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (via Steam and GOG). A specific launch date has yet to be confirmed.
