Civ 7 Ghandi DLC Might Be Coming After All

Exciting news for fans of Civilization 7: the developers at Firaxis Games have hinted that the iconic leader Gandhi might return to the game, potentially as downloadable content (DLC). Dive into the details to understand why Gandhi was initially left out of the game's leader roster.

Hope remains high for Gandhi's inclusion in Civilization 7, as confirmed by lead designer Ed Beach in an IGN interview on February 13, 2025. Beach suggested that while Gandhi might not be part of the initial release, fans could see him return in future DLC.

During the IGN interview, Beach shed light on the exclusion of previous civilizations and their leaders from Civ 7. "We haven't forgotten about anybody who's been in our game before," Beach emphasized. "There's a lot of discussion about where Great Britain or England is, and why they aren't in our game."

The decision to exclude nations like Britain and India from the initial lineup stemmed from the need to balance popular choices with fresh, exciting additions. "There are just too many popular choices, and we always want to introduce a few that feel new and exciting," Beach explained. "So some things get left behind, but we're always considering the bigger picture, planning when to bring leaders or civs back into the fold. There's hope for Gandhi, yet."

Given the extensive list of DLCs released for Civilization 6, it's reasonable to anticipate that Gandhi will eventually make his way into Civilization 7. However, the exact timeline for his return remains uncertain at this point.
