Forza Horizon 5 Launches on PS5

Author : Eric May 22,2025

In an exciting development for racing game enthusiasts, Xbox's popular title, *Forza Horizon 5*, is making its way to the PlayStation 5. Playground Games, the developers behind the series, announced that this latest installment will be available on PS5 this spring, marking another Xbox exclusive transitioning to the PlayStation platform, following titles like *Sea of Thieves* and *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle*.

The PS5 version of *Forza Horizon 5* has been crafted by Panic Button, in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. This version promises to deliver the same rich content as its Xbox and PC counterparts. Players can look forward to enjoying the Car Packs, as well as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, ensuring a comprehensive gaming experience across all platforms.

This move reflects Xbox's broader strategy to expand its reach beyond its own consoles. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has openly discussed the company's plans to bring their games to other platforms, including the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This approach is part of Xbox's efforts to adapt to the evolving gaming market.

Recent financial reports from Microsoft highlight the complexities of this strategy. While *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle* attracted 4 million players and Game Pass on PC saw a 30% growth, contributing to a 2% increase in services revenue, overall gaming revenue declined due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. These figures suggest that Xbox may continue to prioritize Game Pass and broaden its game availability across different hardware to sustain growth.

*Forza Horizon 5* continues the tradition of the open-world racing series, offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, *Forza Motorsport*. Set in the stunning landscapes of Mexico, the game allows players to race and explore at their leisure. For a deeper dive into the game, you can check out our full review [ttpp].
