Playing The Getaway in Fortnite

Getting into The Getaway is quick and straightforward. Launch Fortnite on your preferred platform, head to the Lobby, and select Discover. Scroll through the available modes until you find The Getaway, then hit the Play button to begin queuing up.

If you're having trouble locating it, simply use the search bar in the top-left corner of the Lobby screen. Type in "The Getaway," and the mode should appear instantly, ready for you to join.

What Is The Getaway?

The Getaway is a heist-themed PvP mode where teams must locate and retrieve a valuable jewel scattered somewhere on the map, then escape using a designated Getaway Van. The primary goal is simple: be one of the first three teams to successfully grab the jewel and make a clean escape.

While stealth and speed are key, combat is also a major component—eliminating rival teams can give you a strategic edge. This season, The Getaway supports multiple gameplay styles, including Zero Build, perfect for players who prefer to skip Fortnite’s signature building mechanics. The mode is available in Duos, Squads, Unranked, and Ranked playlists, offering flexibility for all types of players.

The Getaway Start and End Dates

The Getaway is currently live in Fortnite, but it won’t last forever. The mode will remain available until April 1 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time. After that, it will be removed from the playlist, so make sure to jump in before it's gone.

Don’t miss out—matches in The Getaway also contribute Battle Pass XP, helping you level up faster during this limited window.
