"Dune: Awakening PvP Exploit Found in Open Beta"

Author : Aaron Jul 08,2025

The open beta weekend for *Dune: Awakening* has officially concluded, leaving players buzzing with excitement—and some concern. During the Global LAN Party livestream on May 10, a major PvP exploit was uncovered that allows attackers to stun enemies indefinitely, effectively breaking core combat mechanics. Read on to learn more about the exploit and how developer Funcom plans to address it before launch.

Players Discover Game-Breaking Stunlock Exploit

Dune: Awakening PvP Exploit Discovered During Open Beta

During the *Dune: Awakening* open beta, fans were given access to approximately 20–25 hours of gameplay content, along with various features showcasing the game’s potential. However, one unintended discovery quickly gained attention during the live stream event—players found a way to exploit quick knife attacks when an enemy's stamina is fully depleted.

This "stunlock exploit" enables attackers to chain rapid knife strikes, keeping their opponent in a constant staggered state. Victims are unable to defend themselves, use abilities, or escape, rendering them helpless in combat. The issue was notably demonstrated during popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud’s playthroughs, drawing widespread attention from both the community and developers.

Funcom Promises Fix Before Launch

During the same Global LAN Party livestream, members of the development team at Funcom observed the exploit in real time and responded promptly. World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley confirmed that they are aware of the issue and assured viewers that a fix will be implemented before the game’s official release.

Gagné stated confidently, “We got this covered. It's not like ‘Oh my god, we haven't thought about it.’ It's already going away.” With the beta now complete, the feedback—including reports like this exploit—has been invaluable in helping the team refine the game ahead of its upcoming launch.

*Dune: Awakening* is scheduled for release on June 10, 2025, for PC platforms, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions to follow at a later date. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches!
