Dark Phoenix Saga Launches in Marvel Contest of Champions with Jean Grey, Bastion, and New Eidol

Author : Andrew May 25,2025

Kabam is rolling out exciting updates to Marvel Contest of Champions, launching the Dark Phoenix Saga, introducing new Champions, and unveiling a new character type called Eidols. This month also highlights the game's powerful female characters, giving players a chance to influence an upcoming Champion rework.

Jean Grey and Bastion are the latest additions to The Contest, each bringing unique abilities and a compelling new storyline. You can add Jean Grey to your roster starting March 13th, followed by Bastion on March 27th. Before their arrival, the Dark Phoenix Saga begins on March 3rd, featuring Jean Grey and the X-Men battling dangerous variants in a thrilling new quest.

The lore of Marvel Contest of Champions continues to expand with the introduction of more Eidols to advance the Founders storyline. Following the debut of Isophyne in December 2024, three more Eidols will be introduced throughout 2025, each with its own unique sourcing system. The next Eidol, Lumatrix, makes its debut on March 5th and will be available until June 4th.

ytLumatrix, designed by The Founders as a master infiltrator, excels in spying, sabotaging, and assassinating threats with unmatched precision. Made from ISO-8 crystals, Lumatrix possesses remarkable light manipulation abilities. While it may dazzle with its performance, it's a lethal weapon crafted to eliminate enemies while remaining hidden in plain sight.
