Cristiano Ronaldo Joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as Playable Character

Author : Patrick May 01,2025

In what might be one of the most unexpected crossovers in gaming history, Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time alongside Lionel Messi, is set to join the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as a playable character. This surprising inclusion marks a new chapter for the iconic fighting game series developed and published by SNK Corporation.

The announcement came with a trailer that showcases Ronaldo reimagined in the game's distinctive comic-inspired art style. In the game, Ronaldo utilizes his football prowess, employing moves such as the "Headed Clearance" and a slide tackle. Fans will also get to see his signature "Siuuu" celebration, though voiced by actor Juan Felipe Sierra, as Ronaldo did not provide his own voice for the character.

Here’s the official description of Ronaldo's character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves:

One of the top football players in the world. He uses his time off to visit South Town to hone his new football skills. The various techniques he has developed playing football make him an unstoppable force, even to seasoned fighters.

At 40 years old, Ronaldo currently plays as a forward for Al Nassr FC, a professional football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which competes in the Saudi Pro League. The club is majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Interestingly, SNK Corporation, the developer behind Fatal Fury, is now almost entirely owned by the Saudi crown prince’s foundation.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is slated for release on April 24, 2025. The game promises a dynamic art style, a mix of new and returning fighters, and modernized battle systems, making it a highly anticipated title for fighting game enthusiasts and Ronaldo fans alike.
