How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit. To become a Shinigami, accept the initial quest offered by the NPC, Hurt Shinigami. This choice is irreversible; you cannot switch to the Hollow path unless you later become a Visored. If you prefer the Hollow path, please consult our Hollow progression guide. The choice between Shinigami and Hollow is time-sensitive. If you choose Shinigami, your binding chain will slowly break; every two minutes a section breaks. If left unchecked, you'll automatically become a Hollow. In that case, refer to our resurrection moves lists for your Hollow endgame.

Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first quest involves purifying six Lost Souls. Follow this by accepting a letter delivery quest from the NPC near Hurt Shinigami. Early quests are a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random power sword from a Urakara shop. For efficient travel across the large map, utilize the bus stop ($200) or purchase infinite fast travel (149 Robux) from the in-game shop. Quests are marked with a red crosshair. Progress through quests defeating Hollows and Corrupted Shinigamis, culminating in level 15. Expect a variety of repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests (like Vizard and Airwalk).

Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
Strategic skill point allocation is crucial for maximizing your Reiatsu. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities, exclusive to Shinigami. Kido nodes increase Kido damage, while Reiatsu nodes boost your maximum Reiatsu. Key Kido abilities include:
- Caja Negacion: A lightning beam. Combined with Electric, it spreads electricity.
- Shakkaho: An explosive energy ball. Ragdoll adds ragdoll effects; Fire adds fire damage.
- Chain Bind: Energy chains pull enemies closer.
- Prison of Light: Immobilizes enemies with light rods.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that explodes on contact.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reach level 15 to unlock the Shikai Training quest from Urihiro. Defeat Urahara Kisuke to earn Shikai powers. Note: This fight is challenging at level 15; consider grinding to level 25 or higher for an easier victory.

Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. Re-roll it at the Urahara Shop if dissatisfied. Shikai is activated using the Y key (default) when your Rage Bar is full, consuming Reiatsu.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Shikai Mastery Levels are determined by Mastery Points earned by using Shikai. Higher Mastery Levels reduce Rage consumption and grant unique aura effects and visual enhancements:
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points (Transparent Aura)
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points (Brighter aura with particles)
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points (Lightning boost)
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points (Flying stones aura)
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Reaching level 50 unlocks the Visored path, allowing you to blend Shinigami and Hollow powers. Obtain the quest at the Vizard’s Warehouse. You’ll need Hogyoku (1% drop rate from the King of Hueco Mundo) to unlock Visored abilities.

Hollow Era Visored Mastering
Visored perks include Mask Control (reduces Hollow control chance) and the Visored node (extends mask usage time, increasing damage).

Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Allows controlled Hollow transformations.
- Cero: A powerful Reiatsu beam attack.
- Final Cero: A devastating overhead Cero attack.
- Vasto Rage: A temporary transformation into a powerful Hollow form.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Bankai is currently unavailable but is expected in future updates.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Use the lock-on button to target enemies, especially during lag. Learn to block attacks early. Invest in the bus teleport for efficient travel. Prioritize Strength and Speed skill points early. Use J (default) to reveal markers with your Reiatsu sense. While Hollows offer unique advantages, Shinigami is generally less grindy.
