Capcom stunned audiences during today's September 2025 Nintendo Direct by revealing that Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village will debut on Nintendo Switch 2.
The newest trilogy in the acclaimed survival horror franchise made its Direct appearance with a confirmed Switch 2 launch date of February 27, 2026, for all three titles. While Biohazard and Village have already established fanbases, the trailer also unveiled fresh gameplay footage for Requiem, which launches simultaneously across all platforms.
"Face unprecedented terror in the ninth installment of the iconic Resident Evil franchise," reads the official description. "Revisit the decaying ruins of Raccoon City in a heart-pounding survival horror adventure featuring the series' signature combat, detective work, puzzle-solving, and strategic resource management."
With several months remaining before release, many details about Resident Evil Requiem remain under wraps. However, we recently had exclusive hands-on time with the game and conducted an in-depth interview with Capcom's development team.
More revelations await when Resident Evil Requiem arrives in February. As for the Switch 2 ports, both Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village will include their Gold Edition content, offering players complete experiences with all additional material.
