Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update brings a sizzling new experience to the game.
Onsen Training transports players to a Japanese winter hot spring, complete with swordfighting battles and signature BrownDust2 challenges. Adding a humorous twist, the update introduces some monkey mischief into the mix.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
This update introduces three new characters to the game. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade is exclusive to the narrative.
The Onsen Training event story unfolds in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, featuring 30 battles split into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The adventure kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who is reeling from a devastating defeat by Justia, a new student. Determined to restore her honor, Ventana seeks out a snowy mountain hot spring known for boosting physical strength. However, her training plans are thrown into chaos by the mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Ventana is saved by Blade, a legendary graduate of the Kendo Club, who turns down her request for swordsmanship training. This is where Liberta, the hot spring manager, comes in, offering to help Ventana win Blade's mentorship.
There’s a New Mini-Game
The update also introduces Onsen Tile Tactics, a timed tile-clearing challenge. The event story is divided into phases, beginning with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating with Beyond Legend in the third week.
Players will confront both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss. In the third week, players will battle the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a giant monkey that becomes more powerful when targeting enemies with DoT effects.
The Guild Raid will feature Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, for the first time. This boss has no properties, unleashing devastating attacks and requiring numerous chain stacks to defeat.
Additionally, new gear and costumes are up for grabs. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
