Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled the alpha testing phase for his upcoming title, Battledom. This RTS-lite game serves as a spiritual successor to his 2020 hit, Herodom. Frenken, a part-time developer, has dedicated roughly two years to Battledom's creation, a project he describes as closely aligned with his initial vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces flexible RTS battle mechanics, letting players freely maneuver units across the map. Engage enemies from afar, manually controlling siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations add depth to the combat.
Build your army using in-game coins. Initially, units are lightly equipped, but you can enhance their capabilities with customizable weapons and armor. These upgrades directly impact stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.
Resource gathering is key. Instead of finding equipment through exploration, players must craft items in their village. Collect resources such as wood, leather, and coal, then visit the blacksmith, magician, and other village crafters to produce the necessary gear.
Frenken's previous work, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, body types, crops, and farm animals.
