For enthusiasts of automobile simulators, January 16, 2025, marks a historic day. Kunos Simulazioni Studios will launch Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam early access, promising a thrilling experience for racing fans. At launch, players will have access to 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in early access, the developers assure that the game will feature impressive physics, controls, and realistic car behavior, setting a high standard for realism in racing simulations.
A unique feature of Assetto Corsa EVO is the free-ride mode, allowing players to explore at their leisure. A major update scheduled for the summer of 2025 will introduce roads surrounding the renowned Nürburgring track. This fully laser-scanned open world will span up to 1600 square kilometers and is set to expand gradually, offering an expansive and detailed environment for players to immerse themselves in.
Assetto Corsa EVO aims to be the premier car simulator, rivaling industry giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. It boasts photorealistic graphics and advanced physics, striving to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. At its debut, the game will include 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with plans for additional content through future free updates. Each circuit will replicate real-world conditions, such as rolling tires or wet pavement, and feature animated spectators to enhance the realism of the experience.
The developers have also focused on enhancing the dynamics of the automobiles, including suspension damping and shock absorption. The Driving Academy mode will be a key single-player feature in the Early Access phase, where players must complete laps on the aforementioned tracks within specified time limits. Successfully completing the Driving Academy will grant players a license, unlocking access to the game's most prestigious cars.
