Author's collection of scanwords and crosswords

Russian scanwords are undoubtedly a unique global phenomenon. No other language offers such a wealth of literary clues, witty humor, and questions reflecting current world events—all packed into standard crosswords, which might seem surprising. Russians are a people of words. They cherish, honor, and treat language as their most valuable treasure.

The app features a variety of scanwords—easier and harder ones, with photos, classic clues, or associative hints like "one word" or "one word, two words," similar to Elder Fur’s clues. Each magazine includes one English-Russian scanword and a "holey" one—you'll soon see why it's named that. Every page welcomes you with a character from our cheerful family. Join us!

All scanwords are free for readers. This is an annual series: 52–53 issues, each with 20 scanwords. A full year’s collection will take up about 50 MB on your phone—images are small, and text is just text. We respect your phone’s storage.

No internet is needed to solve puzzles, provided the issues are already downloaded. New magazines are published every Friday. If you keep notifications enabled, you’ll get a weekly reminder every Friday at 12:00 local time. When you open the app, new issues download automatically and won’t repeat once finished. You can also download or delete any magazine individually, or use Settings to download all magazines in one tap.

The core features, including full access to all scanwords, are free in the app. The advertiser covers the costs. They may place one narrow banner per page plus one interstitial ad before opening a scanword—never interrupting your solving flow. The advertiser also rewards readers with free hints for watching their videos.

Any reader can optionally choose to "interrupt" the advertiser by: a) disabling ads permanently, b) subscribing to remove ads and get unlimited hints, or c) buying hints in bulk. All options are available in the Shop.
